Tachygram: a game about teens posting

I finished my entry for the Try Something New Game Jam; introducing Tachygram! The whole point of the jam was to try something new, and in this one I focused on a few things:

  • Try out Twine
  • Writing my first interactive fiction
  • Making a game in cohost???

I doubt it's the first game to use cohost as its framework, but I'm still proud of what I came up with! If you find any bugs :eggbug:, feel free to comment on this post and I can look into them. Later on I'd love to go into a post mortem on some of the challenges trying to make an interactive fiction work in cohost if there is interest, but for now you can play the game at https://cohost.org/tachygram/!

ok actually: qLinearizer doesn't seem to be loading its imported javascript correctly (ChatSpy.js is 404ing) which prevents any sort of movement there

what i've seen so far is cool as hell tho. that's for using cohost for an ARG lmao

nehehe the twine export is handling flow control! so knowing when to assign state, how to handle the tools' behavior, and when to branch (things cohost can't handle by itself). it also helped keep track of all the draft pages that are floating in various pages, but weirdly pretty much none of the writing touchs twine!

I'm way too fucking dumb to figure this out, but this is really cool I won't lie
I spent like a solid 2 hours trying to figure out this mystery and idk if I went down too many rabbit holes or if I'm just lacking information, but

Aww thanks for playing and the kind words! My web dev skills are pretty lacking so some of the tools stuff isn't as intuitive or user friendly as id like; if that's what's blocking you I'm sorry!
