Okay at this point I have to believe there some confused executive somewhere who thinks that gollum will be the baby yoda of lotr.
the thing is though you KNOW this movie is gonna have like, ten minutes of gollum in it tops and 120 minutes of someone's vague whiteboy Gondorian OC riding around on a horse and having an awkward and bad romance subplot with an elf that seems to fall off the screenplay halfway through
