there's something very funny about ocarina of time's speedrunning community not allowing emulators for high level runs, on account of inaccurate n64 emulation, but allowing the wii virtual console version of the game, perhaps the most inaccurate n64 emulator

there was a time when WiiU VC was considered the fastest "legitimate" version of majora's mask due to a glitch that made it possible to access the debug menu on that version of the game only and everyone hated that so much they basically stopped speedrunning the game entirely until the glitch was banned later that year
