here's my ranking of PCB colors in two different orders

Emotional

  1. Blue. It looks great.
  2. Green. It's classic.
  3. White. It's pretty neat.
  4. Purple. Hey, I use OSHpark too.

Scientific

  1. White. It's the most legible by far.
  2. Green. It's standard, and reasonably high contrast.
  3. Everything else. It's tough to read the silkscreen.
