I am of conflicting feelings about organizing a gangbang even if it's nothing new (I swear there were news of a porn star doing a public world record attempt when I was a kid), but I 100% support automatically disqualifying any e/acc freaks.

this prompted an argument as to what specific kind of scientific racist she was, because she didn't actually use skull calipers; the vibe never recovered.

it stands for "effective accelerationist" (wiki) which is like (in very short because Wikipedia does a semi-decent job at explaining the thing) "let's throw AI/crypto/<whatever tech> at all our problems and we'll achieve perfection as a civilization even if it means burning the planet". It started gaining steam as an "ideology" because, among people who think AI is good, there's a separation between the "let's thread carefully with AI because it can be dangerous" camp and the "fuck it, let's throw AI at everything, it's worth it if it means humans in 1000 years are infinitely better than we are right now".

It's frankly bizarre but since it seems every one of the most annoying VC/AI/Crypto type in Silicon Valley believes in that shit, it's a term you run into lol

It's not that they "believe" in it, really, is that it's a convenient pseudo-ideological justification for their own self-serving exploitative behaviors. 21st century version of Manifest Destiny or the Talking Book, "no see the violence and exploitation is good and necessary, see?"

For anyone who cares (or is amused by this), the full substack article contains the following bit :
