for a second I thought you meant like, requesting permission to do this as if you needed a permit before realizing that no, you want someone else to make this (and so do I!) which makes much more sense
another important factor is probably that non-stylized assets compose across games and properties easily -- no need to remodel a rock from scratch if you can reuse one from a sister studio or off a marketplace because you're both making "realistic" games.
the Unreal/Megascans assets are maybe the canonical example for this?
