Order yours here: https://www.covid.gov/tests

Government restarted their better than nothing but still abysmally insufficient free test mailing program, I recommend taking advantage of it before they take it away...again

We got sent a bunch last time that said they expired in August, but when we checked the lot numbers using an FDA website we found out they're actually good until February. So check 'em before you chuck 'em!

the trick to public programs is even if you don't need them, make sure to get your tests. if you hold out because you can afford them, they use the low use as rationale that most people aren't using it, and cancel it

Uh... I don't think so? These are rapid antigen tests, so as far as I know they're basically just some test fluid plus a test strip (in a card or plastic housing).

My main issue with them is that they require a certain level of finger strength, dexterity, and vision to use, which is annoying considering the people who most need to use them to catch illness early.

Yep, should have clicked the thingy. I think the chipped ones were at-home PCR tests (but we usually don’t need the precision anyway anymore).

The JoinStar self-tests we have make it very hard to remove the seal from the fluid tube. idk how somebody with weak hands would do it.

Oh 100% I definitely ordered them mostly to have ordered them. Maybe I’ll get lucky (or unlucky lol) and get some use out of them. But mostly it pumps up the numbers and makes the program look good.
