girl on purpose. i make computer things, and also some other stuff with @gaywritinggirl too

well it kinda sucks for reborn to master the blade that magirevo had to air in the same season, doesn't it, because this one is better in basically every way lmao. and their premises are really similar ("yuri isekai about a chad lesbian who has only two things in her brain, one of them being a cute girl"), so the comparison is especially damning.

yeah, magirevo's great! anis steals the show easily, being a super fun protagonist right from the get-go, but everything else is good too. the writing avoids the heavy isekai-isms that make those stories feel so artificial (see: the way reborn skips establishing anything about its characters or setting so that it can get to "the good part" faster), balancing the serious fantasy kingdom politics with anis' stupid antics really well, and in turn making all of the other characters compelling in their own ways. plus, the direction and animation are pretty good! those scenes near the end of ep1 conveyed euphie's depression more strongly than i was expecting.

the show's not a masterpiece or anything, but it successfully accomplishes everything it sets out to do... and what it wants to do, of course, is be GAY GAY GAY FUCKING GAY AS HELL holy shit anis is so gay, lmao i'd heard they actually kiss and stuff later in the story but i wasn't expecting it to be so explicit so early on. it's funny that it kinda feels like the only reason anis hasn't told anyone she's gay is because they wouldn't know what that means and it'd be a pain to explain

anyway yeah i recommend this one. a really good and gay time overall

wait do they not pull the gag of flashing back to anis renouncing the throne by telling her dad shes gay in the anime? (she is Such a fun protagonist though i gotta keep going with the novels)

oh, they do, but she words it as "i'd rather fall in love with a woman" or something. which yeah does mean she's gay, but i thought it was funny she didn't just say "i'm gay" considering she otherwise has no qualms about using terms no one in this world knows about lol
