As an nosey question what happens when youe holding an item or attempt to catch an item as sliding?
(In smw you cant slide with am item but can catch one during a slide continue the slide. As far as i remeber you have no dropping (smw: ⬇️ + release grab) (this isnt a request just a curosity) { a diffrent game is neat & im not asking for making smw, just thoughts come to mind with things like this :3 since depth of details of mechanics its a lot to indulge in for me with many games, a lot of joyous things to admire.
Mario slope jank is something chaotic & odd so kudos to you on slopes again.
(I am very craving jumping from a slope slide with speed, make me curious your speed cap logic, smw checks for horizontal direction inputs which cap speed so maintaining high speed takes lots of neutral inputs, celeste wants you to hold where you will move to maintain (& in few cases gain speed, though celeste doesn't have hard speed caps for most part, which is fun & utilized but that's a longer paragraphs to read on the specifics of why that works for celeste, (notably 'ultras' & 'canceling invalid ultras to make them valid' , & 'corner boosts' & momentum carried from & added from interacting varying ways with moving objects)
Lots of games also do grounded friction slowing you back to normal speeds while 'bunny hopping" maintain speeds above standard. Not sure implementation as much for this one yet. I want to code platformer logic more or in general somepoint

Huh that's interesting. Looks like we accidentally have the same logic as SMW for sliding with items. I guess because you can't crouch while holding an item, you can't initiate the slide, but you can pick up an item mid slide

Your logic already have speed control things do to how slidey it can be. just indont know how you handle speeds above p-speed.
Ill learn more to say somepoint, still not fully dev familair as i would like to be. Lots more player oriented still. I try though some. not good enough yet but i do.
