what's the best thing i can use to create a rss feed for my website? (as a beginner)
im thinking about using it for posting updates and announcements on stuff for the site, like new blog posts, artwork, stuff like that.
i did thought about making a 2nd for the blog page (that's just the blog posts), but i'll put that aside for right now.
Oh, i meant, hows your website built? Is it automatic or manual, etc?
i'm currently working on migrating it to a static site generator (eleventy), so maybe automatic?
eleventy has a rss plugin u can use https://www.11ty.dev/docs/plugins/rss/
So, personally, I just make my RSS feeds manually with neocities. I go into it here on my website in more detail.
But my work flow is basically (note I edit things first on my computer then upload to Neocities):
Create blog I want to post on my website as an html document
Upload that html file to my website
I keep a template RSS feed that has an item with the following code:

Content Title

Description for your content.

I then copy that template into the local copy of my RSS feed (note: new entries go at the top of the RSS feed)
Change all the relevant info to the correct info for the new post
After "CDATA[" you copy the entire content of the HTML post (or, the entire main section without the main tags)
Change any urls that uses a relative file path to the actual URL of whatever I'm linking
Once it's set, copy that item to any other relevant RSS feed I have (I divide my site into multiple ones depending on topic), then copy the items into the RSS feeds in Neocities
I know it seems like a lot but it's basically just write the html post like I want to anyways then copy and paste stuff. One thing that's important too is the location of your RSS feed can never change (or people will no longer be subscribed to it). So just make sure wherever you save it in neocities or wherever that that's where it's going to live permanently. So, for example, I keep my RSS feeds in a folder in my neocities back end.
This is the guide I followed to do it for my neocities and nekoweb, but it has to be manually updated
