I see that Oregon is following in the time honored traditional cycle with their drug decriminalization act:
- implement a popular progressive policy
- fail to implement it well and hobble it through lack of support, causing lots of visible problems that may or may not be actually caused by the policy
- repeal the policy and blame the policy and the people who voted for it for the issues instead of the government for misimplementation it
- use this as an example of why progressive policies don't work to prevent change in the future
