The main global feed is fine, I like the idea of an opt in tag that's just "Here's a random thing that I want to share with a random wider audience." I really don't see an issue with that.

As for the ones where it's global feed(topic) yeah, just do a topic tag instead. But the real solution is to say fuck it, care less, and throw as many tags as you want on your shit. If you post a gaming take, tag every form of the gaming tag you can, who gives a shit? Enjoy your lives, do what you want. Tag on whim and vibe, want more eyes on a thing, tag more things that are relevant, if you don't tag less, turns out, interacting with tags at all is optional. Go apeshit.

thats effectively whats currently happening, and the issue is that it pollutes tags as far as i'm aware. ive always been careful about the tags i'm willing to follow though, and diligant in blocking them, so I can't say ive experienced issues with this. it would be nicer if it were less all over the place for me to not be playing carefully to begin with, but oh well

This is an honest question, but what do you mean by polluting tags? In my head, that would mean posting something with a tag it shouldn't have, such as a tagging a post with "Minecraft" when it's just a picture of a piece of pottery or something.

So, going back and looking at this, I think I may have accidentally came off kinda mean or hostile. I wasn't trying to be a dick or "dunk" on you or whatever. I was actually confused in the moment. I went back and read it again after walking away and I think I get what you meant now. My apologies if I came off as hostile, I wasn't intending to.
