The YouTube channel "Mindless Beats - Topic" is one of those auto-generated channels that get created when someone distributes music to streaming services. I started to get about ten copyright claims a day on my own music rerouting my monetization to these randomly named tracks. I've been successfully disputing most of the claims, but the biggest problem is that anyone using my music, which I've said is free to use, is now also getting those claims. I need this to stop ASAP and I've contacted YouTube and all distributors involved trying to get the uploads taken down.

I'm not sure how much this will help, since it's not a traditional YouTube channel, but if y'all wouldn't mind reporting this as a spam/scam and saying it's stolen reuploaded music, I'd appreciate it. It's actually my birthday week and I've just been having a long stretchy anxiety attack about this.

Yeah, I have had a bunch of these videos(by that I mean indie artists who upload their stuff onto Bandcamp) show up in my suggestions, its been rather weird. Like, my friend's indie band had their entire discography put up on one of these topic channels and they are getting suspicious that this is something to do with Bandcamp's new management.

I've heard of this scam happening long before the Bandcamp thing, and the distributor this person (or bot) went through was unrelated to the new Bandcamp owner. I think it's just coincidence that it's getting to be a bigger problem at the same time

That sucks. I mean, the music is there for free too, so I don't get why people go after indie musicians for this. On a more positive note, I hope you have a Happy Birthday! Your music is some of my favorite.

Thanks! What it means is it's auto-generated by YouTube for the distributor who got the music uploaded. Any music distributed gets these auto-generated videos, including my own. This is YouTube's system being exploited for sure, but not them directly participating in the scam.
