This is a new crossword puzzle format! Originally it was just in this post, but some folks in the comments kindly pointed out the grid looks like a swastika if you squint. I want to minimize the number of people who see it on their feed without expecting it, so I moved the puzzle to this draft.
this format is incredibly fun, you absolutely must give it a go!
i like this! chopping up the words correctly in the top right corner was tricksy in a fun way. is 2 down perhaps missing its clue? my answer is the same as what's written there

Definitely interesting and fun, especially knowing an answer but not being sure how to chop it up, so having to look at the clues going the other way and see what subset of letters might fit.
can you fill in a dummy response ? i want to try but im not sure i get how to fill in the answers

I thought this was really fun, tractable while also being interesting and a bit mind-bending.
Just so you know, this isn't entirely new! The genre is usually called "crushword", and while they're quite rare, there are a few around. You can see a few similar things from the MIT mystery hunt here, one by Paolo Pasco here, a spiraly one here and, if you happen to have an xwordinfo account, the July 9, 2000 NYT variety puzzle of this type here. There is also a subscription-only puzzle of this type available in the backlogs of http://www.joonpahk.com/.
anyway i'm excited to see that there's a new one! i'd rather solve it on squares.io than in an image editor, so i've gone ahead and put it up for anyone else to solve interactively as well (use Esc to enter multiple letters in a cell). Let me know if you'd rather I take it down, or if you'd like the file so you can put it up yourself.
Thanks! Having made one of these I'm thoroughly impressed with the mystery hunt setters for making such a large one, even with concatenation. And I appreciate you putting it up on squares; I wanted to put it up as a .puz but I didn't know off the top of my head which software supported "Oops! All Rebuses"

took me quite a bit to understand what to do, but once i did (& using @jseakle's version), very fulfilling to solve! it was made easiest to figure out the format by starting from the clue that is Easy For Me, Personally and working from there
It's certainly not intentional! I appreciate you pointing it out, in the future I'll stay away from this sort of rotational symmetry on a small grid.
