We return after a month hiatus after a series of life events!

Sketting on the Gyre

  • Previously, Valerie had learned of the location of Aslind's grave from the small gods. She took everyone there and marked it with her sword. Chicory left the bracelet from her mother there, and SUPERB made it a flower/grasses crown. Evangeline poured a libation. Valerie waited for something to happen, and nothing did.
  • They returned to the hallow and ate lunch with Ixa, where they asked them about themself and talked about travel. Ixa felt anxious again about being weird. SUPERB and Valerie had oatmeal1 made with sacred waters boiled by a will-of-the-wisp of some description, which is very normal to Ixa. The caravan is concerned that Ixa hasn't really left the hallow for much of their life yet.
  • Valerie explored some of the side chambers of the keep and communed with the small gods, learning a song that could summon Rhodite and received a storm orchid from an isopod god. She had a realization, and went to gather everyone, especially Ixa, and took them back to the grave. She removed the sword and replaced it with the metal orchid she'd received from the Skyward Smith, Yarrow, and began to sing aloud2 the song from Redsand, "stone from the castle".
  • Doing so, they are confronted with a vision of the night before the execution of the rebellion leader Aslind and the legendary blacksmith Yarrow; they speak of the future and death and what may come next for them. Upon returning from this vision, Valerie began to stack stones at the grave sites of other people executed at the castle in years past, and Ixa fled to the heart of the hallow.
  • The price for violating the taboo was the stirring of the 15 sleepers, deep gods who dwelled beneath the hill, who the past queen drew on to tear her hole into the world. They sleep fitfully and in discomfort from the hole, and so the taboo was placed. Ghost orchids bloom across the castle hill, as well as strange and ghostly plants sprouting from the ground and small tremors through the earth. Chicory confronted Ixa about this, and they help her to attune herself to the voices of the thousand thousand small gods gathered there; she urges them to work together, and to wake the sleepers to help fix what their power tore open.
  • We suggest that Valerie summon the mighty god Rhodite, who can illuminate the shadows of the world, that Chicory can speak with the sleepers directly, and invoke a :black: Transition to commune with the divine and help fix a piece of the world

As you can see we are all very normal about relationships with divinity and typical modes of wanderhome play.

we also invented a new way to talk about killing someone in a social media filter-friendly way
