- Chuubo, Seizhi, and Miramie cleaned up the cafe after Miramie wrecked it during the suffering wish. Seizhi assisted Chuubo with cleaning windows outside, where they talked about how people kept moving in with Chuubo, asking about what Seizhi did in her spare time, and an increasingly embarassed Seizhi being asked about if she liked anyone or had any secret admirers1. Miramie interrupts, and Chuubo recommends a slash fiction Sam/Frodo zine for her to read, while promising to get Seizhi some yuri.
- Jasper awakens the following day, only to discover one of the horses of the sun in his bedroom. This is surprising on account of the bedroom being on the second floor, as well as all the horses being to the best of his knowledge, dead. He eventually befriends it some and leads it downstairs, where it promptly eats the breakfast Chuubo made for everyone. Miramie proceeds to be very normal and comfortable about horses2 while Jasper continues trying to figure out why it's there, as well as ascertains his gender and gives him a name (Helios).
- Jasper and Miramie go into Fortitude to buy tack for Helios. They talk about their fears about the sort of power Chuubo wields with the Engine, and quickly find that they don't have nearly enough cash for everything. They settle on a payment plan. As they leave with Helios in tow, a skyship in the style of Celestia passes over the sun.
- In the market, Chuubo spies a stranger and his colorful entourage. Immediately besmitten by his bad-boy rider looks, Chuubo gets Jasper to approach him to introduce himself to her. Jasper learns that this is the Moon Prince, or Prince of Cats, and that he is here to invite Jasper onto his skyship, possibly to find Celestia. Chuubo is smitten while Miramie does not find him especially tolerable; Jasper feels a number of things as he also reveals that he apparently stole the ship from the Headmaster and that he did graduate from the Academy. He leaves with an open invitation for them to check out his ship, and tells them that they can use any cat to reach him. The three discuss some of their misgivings, and Jasper and Miramie speculate as to his true intentions.
