JTRPG time, and this one has some of the coolest tech I've seen

Genre: Natural fantasy

Touchstones: Atelier games, maybe a little Nausicaa but it's mostly its own thing

What is this game?: You're magical herbalists journeying into the forest to solve some problem for your community

How's the gameplay?: Over the course of character creation and the search phase, you construct a personal spell map by drawing lines on a grid. When it's time for combat, you spend shapes made from those lines to cast your spells, and take damage as your opponent disrupts those lines with attacks of their own. Otherwise it's mostly 2d6 roll-under checks and a few extra tricks, but the spell grid is incredibly clever and unique.

What's the setting (If any) like?: All about the plants. You've got a giant magical forest, magical herbs that form symbiotic bonds with humans and animals, magical herbs that come to life themselves... one way or another, your characters wield the magic of the plants to assist your village.

What's the tone?: Fairly lighthearted

Session Length: 3-5 hours

Number of Players: 1 GM, 3-4 Players

Malleability: Almost every step of character creation is related in some way to the established setting, but, many of the details are left open-ended and I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone managed a total reflavoring

Resources: Multiple scenarios are included with the core book

I still think the spell map is genius. So much tactical depth behind the floral aesthetic
