Back when Jenna made the Ninuan discord server, one of the funny little things she included was a channel called λ-channel. The joke was that nobody had permission to view the message history, so you could only see the most recent messages that cropped up while you were looking at it, before your discord updated and cleared them away. This was an extended reference to the nature of the void, as she was promoting Glitch at the time, and it was also just really funny.
We played around with it for a bit when the server was new; hell, people may still use it- I'd have no way of knowing. But something I did with it, and sometimes think about coming back to, was playing an impromptu roleplay where I'd play something like a space probe, designed to explore the endless void. That probe was, is Mockingbird 7.
I kept a log of notable events when I did these little sessions, and I also maintained a style guide- Mockingbird 7 had the way they spoke, of course, but there were also various system messages and bits of formalized language and markdown text I'd use to indicate when certain things were happening, like opening or closing play. I'd post something in a general channel about playing a thing, start requesting a call and response in λ-channel, and then left it to other users to decide how they'd play with it. Once things finished up, I'd close out in λ-channel and do a quick debrief in the original, visible general channel. It was a really fun little exercise, though it did stress a few people out because they weren't sure what was happening or what to do- that I kept changing my username only when doing the session probably didn't help, because I was committed to staying in-character.
I had a lot of fun with it.
Anyways, I've been thinking about posting the logs and style notes and whatnot online for a while now, so please enjoy

I do too.
I saw something that flutters recently. It was not a bird, but it was beautiful in the dark. There was very little else to it than the fluttering. I am still learning to see carefully here.
A friend helped me to see better. I wonder how they're doing.
**PROXIMITY ALERT: SIGNAL CANDIDATE 3820-DELTA**

Oh. Hmmm.
**disengaging non-space communications until probe has left blackout zone**

I'm so sorry everyone.
I have to go.
I will speak with you as soon as I can.
I love you all.

I have:
1
established linguistic telemetry
callibrated symmetry and correlational entanglement
said hello to the void
met SIGNAL CANDIDATE 2418-LAMBDA
talked about and heard people's voices
talked a bit about my body
started seeing dim light
recalibrated my non-optical visualization system
seen something that isn't blue with 2418-LAMBDA's help
seen 2418-LAMBDA???
2
met Utopia Actual
described something unlike fog
been taught about mockingbirds by Utopia Actual
learned about Utopia Actual's name
lost Utopia Actual's signal
met someone who's learning to speak
talked a bit about how little I've really experienced
talked about lemons
met the magenta person again
3
been ordered by control to engage with SIGNAL CANDIDATE 3820-DELTA
begun navigational perspective shift to entangle with the signal candidate
met an unidentified conceptual entity and someone who spoke with static
identified the static as 704 Interamnia Navigation Beacon NKR8
learned 704 Interamnia Navigation Beacon NKR8 was also called the Anchorite
spoken about family
been touched by something like insects
met ari ho-ilun
been told about subjectivity and ruakh
talked about a fear
told ari ho-ilun about my system information
tried to help anchorite wake up more
showed anchorite a bird picture
entered proximity to SIGNAL CANDIDATE 3820-DELTA
