this is from (deep breath) The ABC Of Bee Culture: A Cyclopaedia of Every Thing Pertaining to the Care of the Honey-Bee; Bees, Honey, Hives, Implements, Honey-Plants, Etc., Facts Gleaned from the Experience of Thousands of Bee Keepers All Over Our Land and Afterward Verified by Practical Work in Our Own Apiary by Amos Ives Root. gotta love book titles from olde times, haha. but i'm not sure who the artist is!
some of the etchings & illustrations in the book are signed or watermarked, but not all of them, and there's no artists credited on the title page or list of illustrations, and there appears to be a bunch of different sources and styles used. SO i suspect the book is making a lot of use of the historical equivalent of clip art - pre-drawn art and illustrations and graphical elements sold/licensed for use in ads, magazines, etc.
there's some other pieces in the book with the "wood" signature/mark that's on this frog pic... one says "wood medina O", indicating that the person or company was based in medina ohio, where root lived and worked. that's all i got, though!
