🥀What's in a name?🥀
My name is Anel, but I chose it because it's a Haitian name, and I don't have any way to connect to those roots, and this is my best way how 😔. On a positive note, it rolls off the tongue, and sounds very non-gendered to me!
I love nicknames though; it means a lot to me when someone gives me one, like a seal of friendship/trust. I'm not out to anyone in my family, but I take it as a Win™ when they use it instead of my dead name.
🎁Gifts🎁
As of late, I don't really ask for much gift wise; asking me "what do you want for ____" is the worst question, bc yeah, there's things in various shopping carts that would be nice to have, but aren't a necessity/I couldn't justify spending my money on it.
As for me being the gift giver?? I will latch onto whatever you're interests are and constantly be on the lookout to gift/make you something related to it. I love giving other people gifts, but have a hard time accepting them myself.
Either way, I'm cutting down on my consumerism, and if I do end up giving any gifts, it'll be secondhand and small shops only. Maybe handmade if I'm confident in my abilities enough.
