I didn't get an invite but just from the videos it just looks so whatever blah, especially on the visual side which confuses me the most?
This thing doesn't look made in source 2?? It legit looks like source 1 with less design around it, how it handles lighting and texturing just feels so flat and bland, and THEN they just sucked all the color out??? I'm so confused why
it's really bland. I've seen plenty of games take this kinda magica/steampunk setting and actually have primary colors, but this game doesn't feel they need anything but drab grey muck. Uninspired, ugly, spongy everything. How is this the company that made TF2??
It's because the game's an early alpha, the graphics are extremely unfinished (like, a huge chunk of the game is actual placeholder assets), it's so unfinished that multiple character designs are still a holdover from when this game had a completely different style and name
It's just so weird to me when people talk about how this game looks as if it's a finished, released product that you can pay money for, when it's a closed playtest you need an invite for and the literal first thing the game tells you when it starts up is how unfinished it is
Like, they literally said "it doesn't look made in Source 2" and said they're "so confused why", so I'm telling them why, I don't think it's a particularly hot take to point out that an unfinished game isn't going to look up to the standards of a finished game
