I find it weird that when people try to answer the question "why aren't there sex scenes in movies anymore?" they blame "fandom antis" or some other made up thing instead of the actual answer which is "disney owns 90% of hollywood now"
disney's chokehold on hollywood has meant that in the last 10 years we've all been doing ridiculous things like arguing over whether the latest disney kidvid is going to change the world (cause disney makes sure we all end up discussing them and treating each one like a cultural event) and acting like adults must go see the latest marvel movie, cause "this is the one" where it finally gets good, trust me, and every single time, I get pranked cause it's the same disney movie again, about heroes and villains and learning a very important lesson etc etc
...I think this is the problem more than anything anyone in any fandom is doing. I've given up on disney ever giving me a grown-up movie and I've moved on to other things. we all need to do that
