I absolutely despise how much of the public imagination epic has captured. Surely this really competently made thing is UE5! I have nothing against the engine but I am not looking forward to more of this complete misconstruction of how fucking gamedev engines work
i think another part of it is how Unity got a poor reputation with casual gamers by requiring free version products to have a unity splash screen, so a lot of the general public associates unity with the asset flips clogging the steam store
I don't even know how to develop a game, but even I get what you're saying.
