I got a game off the eshop on sale (3.99€) called Marble Maid that looked like a fun if somewhat cheeky (there's a maid) Monkey-Ball-like platformer because I had seen some gameplay on a news site forever ago. I was greeted with a disclaimer about adult content and there is indeed a gallery of lewds to unlock (they are often censored on Switch).
But, long story short, it's still a pretty decent and fun collect-a-thon. Say 7/10.
In this game you are a maid who rolls around in a transparent ball and has to collect litteral dust bunnies through mostly linear levels accessed via a hub.
It looks like Monkey Ball but really it is more of a standard 3D platformer where you happen to control a ball rather than something more physics based, though you still have to watch out for momentum, angled surfaces, have to slow down for turns etc.
The maid can make her ball roll in any direction, jump and (when static) charge a boost with several possible levels of charge.
The controls are pretty good, I didn't find anything wrong with them other than the camera sometimes obscuring the character with other elements in some rare tunnel-like places.
You start in a rather small hub world where you will gradually unlock portals to new worlds with some 10+1 levels each. You can reach anywhere from the start but stuff will be locked.
Each level is a floating platforming course where you will have to catch 3 dust bunnies before reaching the exit to unlock it and each contains 5 dust bunnies total. Each of their spawning points acts as a checkpoint when you capture them and there is little penalty to falling off the stage or hitting "deadly" obstacles, other than returning to a checkpoint. There is a timer that limits the time you have to reach the exit which can be extended by collecting hourglasses sometimes present in levels. Dust bunnies unlock lewd pictures in the gallery in the hub world. Each world also has a secret level that is only accessible through a warp pad hidden in one of the regular levels as well as a "boss fight" against Nega Maid, another balled up maid who sometimes has elemental powers that you will have to push three times off the level to make dust bunnies appear that you still have to catch to finish the level.
The game has 300+ dust bunnies to catch throughout 5+1 worlds, it makes for a pleasant afternoon or two of pretty good ball-platforming.
The level design isn't mind blowing or frustratingly hard but it should keep you interested throughout the game. New gimmicks are often introduced be they obstacles or mechanics such as dark levels where you can temporarily light up chandeliers by going near them or special post-game karting levels where the controls change a tad and you go much faster. The postgame content is made up of the extra world as well as an extra difficulty level with less time and no chackpoints and you also get some new skins (unfortunately they don't change the little maid animation in the corner).
Regarding the lewd materials, it stays very mild throughout gameplay, you will catch some panty in the rare cutscenes and that's about it. The really lewd part is a gallery in the hub world that has pictures covered in clouds of dust. Collecting dust bunnies clears the clouds and you can then have a pop-up of the picture appear on-screen when you approach them. There are also two special sections made of fan-art and development materials.
The illustrations are rather amateurish but can get quite racy, only anything more than tits will be censored in the Switch version with an adequately placed dust bunny. The game is also available on GOG and it's probably uncensored there. It costs around 8€ but is currently (dec 2023) half off on the Switch eshop.
Aside from the lewd parts I'd liken the experience to something like Toree 3D, Lunistice or other similarly short and basic 3D indie platformers, though I guess it's a bit more classic in its themes. I had some pretty good fun with the game, I don't regret getting it on sale, but keep in mind that I'm a sucker for 3D platformers and easy to please. Maybe it's a bit expensive at the full 8€ price. I'd say it's a surprisingly solid 6 or 7/10 little indie experience.
