the thing about cohosts determination to take the gamification out of social media is that a lot of it ends in users actively having less ways to protect themselves from harassment or abuse, because notably there are less ways to micromanage your interactions. like yes not having all shares of a post be visible may be better in theory if we imagine a site where everyone behaves themselves but in practice it means that you have to wait for someone to un-anonymously come directly harass you for you to control whether or not they get to interact with your page (anymore.)
social media that is difficult to use for social purposes, then. so, like, a void to throw posts into. i'm a fan of cohost but it's not my ideal.
