@JFK-Blown-Away asked:

Thought I'd see if you can come up with anything I might enjoy. Now I don't dislike Kpop as a genre, but I never go out of my way to listen to it. Would just like to maybe have a couple tracks to add to my main playlist. My favorite bands/albums

Wall Of Voodoo - Seven Days In Sammystown

Devo - Oh No! It's Devo

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense

Red Vox - Kerosene

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - I'm In Your Mind Fuzz

Also my most recently added songs to my playlist.

Leaving The Light - Genesis Owusu

It Doesn't Have To Be That Way - Sparks

The Performer - Fox Japan

Cario - Spilly Cave

A Problem Is A Problem It Don't Matter Where You From - The Death Set

Okay first of all I just need to say: Your music taste? The vibe?? Immaculate.

The only artists I knew on your list were Devo and The Talking Heads, and I love both. I went and skimmed through the rest and they all got added to my lists. So thanks for sharing your tastes with me, too!

Okay now on to my recommendations. Matching this specific vibe with songs by Korean artists is going to be a task, but maybe not as much of one as some might think. The key points I'm taking from the list you gave me are as follows;

Somewhat of a "noisy" production but with a consistent overall soundscape, retro feel (but that could mainly be due to the genre you live in, not a lot of artists do it anymore), favoring male voices (again also could be due to the genre and not specific tastes).

Keeping that in mind, there are a lot of things I can recommend, but I don't know if anything will fit all of those at once. I'm gonna give it my best shot, though!

  • Mistake - Drug Restaurant
    This first band I thought of... unfortunately, their singer has a pretty intense rap sheet (went to jail for it) and I might get shit for even mentioning them. But if you're the kind of person who can separate art from artist I think they might be right up your alley. I'll let you look into them and decide for yourself but the song is still one I'm gonna list.

  • All My Friends Are Turning Blue - LØREN
    LØREN is a personal fav. Pretty small discography but what does exist is all really good.

  • CRYBOY - Sunburnkids AKA Sunburn
    This band only has one mixtape out and I can't wait for more from them.

  • Cruel - Jackson Wang
    Jackson Wang is actually Chinese, but he came up in the Korean industry. He was originally part of a boy group called GOT7, but has since branched out and now does his own thing. Most of his music is in English. Cruel is off of the MAGIC MAN album, which is his most recent.

  • CHRISTIAN- Zior Park
    This will be the second time today I'm recommending Zior Park to someone. The music is just so noisy and fun, and I really think more people should listen to him. Your tastes might align with him.

  • So I Danced - DPR IAN
    This one is a bit of a reach but there's something about the production of this one that rings as similar to Devo for me, even though it's mostly electronic. Something about the noisy, bouncy production. DPR IAN is a favorite of mine, and I do try to recommend him to as many people as I can. His albums are all written about his journey with his mental health (he has DID and Bi-polar I) and I find him very relatable and interesting.

Please let me know how I did! Your recs were really unusual and fun to put together.πŸ’œ
