it seems that what i still want is just a pseudo-DMs system where i can have notifications when someone posts new stuff and for that stuff to not crowd anything else out

(a Manual Follow is when you look at someone's page specifically to see their posts instead of having it come up on your feed. this is how i end up using Twitter--i follow literally no one and just remember which accounts i like to look at)

You must log in to comment.

in reply to @gnar's post:

twitter has Lists which sort of help with this, in that you can use them to make a "sub-feed" of just the accounts you want to see every post from, i think in cohost the best solution is "create another page just for following a few accounts again" which seems unwieldy

i mostly avoid using as much of twitter's actual features (i find it helps curb my desire to use the website in general) which is why i havent used Lists, although i really would like it if cohost had a similar idea to Lists

(or at the least, let me break my follower feed into a few sub-feeds--ie: "fast poster", "slow poster", "daily updating comic", etc). might have to do the Make Another Page thing as u said though
