Art Machine, trying to be a person

I'm watching raocow play the Satellaview Zelda game, and it's really interesting in a lot of ways! But the funniest part is how often the game makes you stop and listen to it. It'll straight-up stop all the action in the game, put a big "WAIT" sign over everything, and deliver some voiced exposition to you. Which is really neat in concept, but the acting is done in a really weird way. There are gaps in between each line of monologue, sometimes multiple whole seconds long. You're not listening to anything or doing anything in that time, just.....WAITing.

Which is extra funny because there's a strict time limit of (less than) an hour per play session due to how the Satellaview worked! And the clock beeps with each minute going by so you don't lose track of time. So you can literally hear this old guy wasting your time as the clock beeps while he's telling you that shops exist again or something.

My favorite part of the spells the old man casts on the world is when he says "I looked into the hearts of the merchants and they only care about Rupees, so I'm going to make them my puppets and make them give you discounts. Talk to them while I'm manipulating their hearts!"

And like, yeah giving us a discount on items is a huge help in this game, but the phrases "make them my puppets" and "manipulating their hearts" are things only villains say in this kind of game, so it's REALLY funny to hear them from this old guy who's helping you :v
