tbh i still don't really know what happened with snouts lol
I never used mastodon so all my knowledge is secondhand, but it left a lot of people very bitter.
Some really shitty instance kinda bullied it offline by doing a brigade, iirc, and i know it included some amount of infiltration for further harassmentc.

i mean if i liked mastodon i'd be over there instead
i really don't like how federation works, and it's not really a better alternative than twitter just because it can be self hosted. the whole design and structure for communication fails for me
