tumblr's big problem is that it has permitted basically unchecked bigotry for years and if you say anything about it being staff's fault (y'know, the people running the website) people whine about how they're overworked and if you imply that maybe there are people on staff who agree with the bigotry they allow (there almost definitely are, lol) staff gets pissed off at the very implication that someone on staff could possibly be ok with all the open transphobia and catholic extremism about which action was never taken after reporting because the apple store only cares about if there's porn.
here the big problem is "staff have been weirdly quiet about the dark mode being busted until extremely recently." welcome to greener pastures, if you are a bigot go die in a hole because you aren't welcome here!
