...Mahjong Fight Girl, the new arcade spinoff of Konami's long-running Mahjong Fight Club series, which launched earlier this year to little fanfare. They seem to be running the same playbook as they did for Bombergirl (''this game's floundering, quick, hit the Shiori button") and that game somehow clawed on for long enough to eventually become reasonably popular, so maybe it'll work again this time, too.
Whatever the case, a lot of people are just happy to see new animated Shiori content, such as it is, in 2023:
was watching a gameplay video from someone who got Shiori. This game has a big emphasis on visuals: most of the screen real estate would normally go to the tiles, but here the characters are actually animated at a 3D table with constant emotes, voice lines and other actions. Your character is in a sidebar looking at you. Pretty extravagant stuff compared to the "moe mahjong" clients out there, and the price tag matches it. There is of course a cruel gacha where you spin for individual effects for a character: it costs money to have the Tokimeki Memorial ending scene play when you win as Shiori.
The visual I like the most and which I hope other games steal is the latter two images, which are "you got bodied" animations when someone wins on a big hand. The Shiori in this video goes on a rampage, which is great cause we get to see all her win animations.
