Silver Star Japan, the decades-old Japanese studio that specialises in digital adaptations of shogi and other traditional board games, is stepping out of their wheelhouse with Rasen Reijoh Spiral Ojousama: Chohatsu no Makina, a "vertical roll, horizontal scroll" action game due out on Switch in November, starring an ojousama who gains the ability to attack and traverse environments using her ridiculous drill hair as a grapple. (Their tagline even plays on the fact that the game has 0% shogi content.)
They've yet to release a trailer but there is a little clip embedded as the background of their website, so take a look (they 403'd it while I was writing... wait nvm I had it tabbed), or make do with these screenshots:

It clearly isn't a high-budget game but this isn't just a throwaway release for them, either: it's getting a full retail release, they're hiring VA, they've commissioned a little tie-in manga from Giant Ojo-Sama mangaka Nikukai Q that they'll be giving away at TGS, etc. I have no idea if it'll hit or even if it'll be all that fun, but I'm a sucker for 2D grapple action so I'll give it a shot; more to the point, I like seeing all these humble little studios going out on a limb with passion projects like this one and Sonic Powered's odd Waku Waku Sweets action game and I hope they find an audience.
