my assumption is that they still believe FOMO is on their side but idk how that's supposed to work when every single member of that site seems to have eight hundred invite codes that they can't give away

I feel like I'm going insane every time I see someone say something like "don't post on Cohost, nobody uses it. Post on bluesky instead"
Like... the website nobody can even look at without being invited to?
it's always people who think that "nobody uses it" means "people don't post 50 times a day" too. like shit, if anything people not posting 50 times a day is one of this place's best features because now people will do shit like use paragraphs and actually consider what they're writing
Last I checked cohost and Bluesky are actually pretty similar in size except, yeah, people can see your shit on cohost without being members
Kind of, but then I think about toyhouse still requiring invite codes and I'm like, fuck, maybe these websites don't want me using 'em.
I mean toyhouse isn't trying to be a major social network backed by venture capital run by a billionaire
True, big difference there. I forget if it's just a One Guy project or not but it's definitely not shooting for that.
My big reason for staying here vs getting on bluesky is because cryptobro jack is on the board of BS, and you cant see posts on BS without logging in. Makes it bad for a freelancer like me. This site’s picked up with activity toward my stuff which makes me much prefer here.
Also im worried the minute bluesky becomes un invite only it’ll immediately be flooded by nazis and get as bad as the other place
