The funny part is on the hoops bit Piko outright said they lost those rights this year lol, so the Evercade compilation is all but confirmed to go legacy next year as a result
They did? I must have missed that (and I'm not surprised, as I try not to pay them or Evercade too much mind). I'm guessing Atari make a claim for them after getting the Accolade catalogue?
Yeah atari also bought the Drakkhen duo back from them too and it would explain why their recent myarcade player has piko games mixed in with the atari stuff: Blaze also had to discontinue the first piko collection for that reason as well (and atari also revoked the 5 carts they made for their stuff due to exclusive contracts with MyArcade) so piko seems to at least be willing to give back their games if anyone actually is interested in any of them.
Though to be fair I find Evercade stuff in general to be pretty good: sort of the fun obscurities you’d see on NSO with pretty good emulation and it definitely exceeds the crap myarcade, qubyte and the LRG compilations are doing of late… Their sunsoft compilation is pretty rad
