not a dig on that Archipel doc at all, but one aspect of Kenji Eno's personality that hasn't penetrated outside of Japan is that, for as much as he cultivated a persona as a straight-talker and someone willing to say what others might only think, he wasn't great at accepting criticism of his own games, and his attempts at "dialogue" with critics could come across as him browbeating them for not being nicer to his work

ENO: he promised me distribution at stores across japan, and i told him "if i go to yodobashi camera on monday, and my game isn't on sale, i'm going to punch you"
INTERVIEWER: [laughs]
ENO: anyway they didn't have it on monday so i did punch that guy
