Today's the 4th anniversary of G-MODE Archives, G-Mode's line of Japanese feature phone game reissues, and they've scheduled an anniversary stream for 20:00 tonight where they're planning to reveal the 100th G-MODE Archives release, among other info. G-MODE's already managed to negotiate a good variety of third-party content, including from typically non-collaborative licensors like Atlus, so I wonder how they might one-up themselves for #100...
As of right now, they've put the G-MODE Archives catalogue on discount until May 1 (JP Switch - PC (set language to JP if you can't see em)—the last year or two of releases have been focused primarily on Atlus RPGs, which I figure don't need a co-sign, as well as successive episodes across a few different mystery ADV series, so my personal recs haven't changed in a while, but if you want to start somewhere and are confident in your JP language skills, these are my picks:
Persona 3 AEGIS THE FIRST MISSION, a 3D action-RPG originally released for Japanese feature phones in 2007, set a decade before the events of Persona 3. This not just one of the most-requested G-MODE Archives releases but also their first polygonal game reissue.
Kawa no Nushi Tsuri 2, the 2009 galakei entry in the slow-life fishing RPG series known globally as Legend of the River King—AFAIK this isn't a port/remake of the SFC of the same name, exactly, but a content update to the sorta-original galakei game released a couple years prior.
