another Taito alt-title list, this time for Crime City (released today via Arcade Archives)—apparently, they had to ditch their original final title of "Vice Squad" due to another game being announced overseas with the same title; from this list, they narrowed their choices down to "Crime City", "BEAT BACK' and "Tony & Raymond" (the two player-characters). Woulda gone with QUALITY POLICE or CRAZY FUZZ, myself.
(That other Vice Squad game ultimately didn't make it to market, by the way.)
This list came from tonight's Hamster stream, and Taito brought a ton more Crime City docs that I want to go over in more detail sometime, particularly the many unused/heavily-revised plot and cinematic docs. If you've never seen this game in action, do give it a look: the plot is extremely silly and blessed with turn-of-the-'90s Taito's signature just-slightly-off English text, and it takes Rolling Thunder worship to a very literal apex by letting you roll into enemies to kill them, which is quite often more efficient or effective than shooting 'em.
