Tomorrow at 1pm PST I will be streaming coverage of a Rotisserie Draft of my cube for the first time in several years. For those unfamiliar with the format, it works like this:
-
My cube is a set of 540 different cards that I've chosen to provide a fun and balanced play environment.
-
Eight players draft this cube in a spreadsheet by choosing one card at a time.
-
Drafting goes in snake order: the first player picks a card, then the second, and so on until the eighth player who picks two. Then the seventh picks another, and on back to the first who picks two.
-
The draft goes on until each player has picked 40 cards. At that point, they're randomly assigned to two teams who can assist one another with deckbuilding.
-
Once decks are built, the teams battle one another round-robin on Magic Online. The team with the most match wins at the end wins the draft.
I think Rotisserie is one of the most fun limited formats you can play and maybe the most fun you can watch, some come on by and check it out! @slifter and I will be doing commentary as well. It'll be a good time.
This is not an April Fools joke.
