It's been a few intensive weeks "tightening up the graphics" and editing Act 2. I'm happy with the shape it's in, wanting it to be seen. Exhausted from thinking about it. Summer travel soon.

Husband played a little of the game tonight, shook his head and said "oh, your horny game". music to my ears.

Spent a week working on a piece of game that is my perfect mix of ambitious and idiotic. The kind of stuff I live for when it all comes together.

The week before this I was very much in "not gonna finish" crisis mode again. I had to extend the timeline for this current iteration, giving everything way more time than previously expected. I have not gone this far - handing off this piece of the game for real editorial scrutiny - and of course, I was imagining it was more ready than it is.

Stepping outside of the safest parts of the game, tested parts, into the beyond... the real meat of the game... an overwhelming prospect. But here I am, making it better, making it substantial... dare I say, making it good as fuck.

Much work this month on an iteration that removes vagueness wherever it has been allowed to fester. It sucks when things turn out to be vague, when they were mentally marked “basically done” but it turns out they need lots of attention. But maybe this is necessary in a development timeline, to occasionally feel that things are going well and will soon be finished, even if they won’t. It feels good to find the vague areas and push through the frustration and fill them out. It feels good that the game is richer than I previously imagined it was.
