Rean is a very weird egg bc they definitely have an idea for what his character is (weird cagey guy who uses an agreeable persona and a lot of phony modesty to keep people at arm's length), but 80% of the time it feels like they are deliberately avoiding opportunities to characterize him because they also want him to be a blank slate video game protagonist too.
I miss Estelle. Estelle had a personality and a history and relationships with other people and she could still do side quests without it being a whole thing.
