this is a beg post.

rachel and i need to move within a month. our landlord is very nice and decided to go back on their word, so instead of spring it's the start of october.

i make $6000/month, roughly, after taxes. so our budget is, basically, $2,000/month, in rent, because of the 3Γ— income requirement.

we are in the des moines, washington area. 98198. ideally we would not be moving more than 10 miles away.

hard requirements, in order of hardness:

  • roommates are not an option.
  • move-in date before october 1. earlier is better.
  • first floor only. we cannot do stairs.
  • 2 bedrooms.
  • > 1,000 square feet.

if you have any clues on how to find these places i am all ears. i have been trawling zillow and other things and it feels like all the listings are garbage. an apartment complex lists an available-now unit at $1,985 and then we drive up and ask them and suddenly the price is $2,195 and it's not available until late october. "the rates change based on factors", no doubt to fuck over everyone else in the name of profit.

edit: contact methods: xkeeper on telegram/discord, comments, ask box, idk whatever else

we are doing as much as we can to handle this ourselves but time and energy are in very short supply. the sooner we find a place the better because i physically can't do a one-day move again, even with moving help (there's a lot of stuff i need to do myself, e.g. dismantling computer setups). we need like a week at least to spread things out and have time to recover.
