I knew going in that this week was not going to be a good one for progress on this project, but I did manage to get a few useful things done.

I've been starting to organize the very massive PS1 release list. When going through the raw release lists (PSX Data Center, Redump, Moby Games), it becomes clear just how many releases some games received between being released in multiple regions and re-releases (Greatest Hits, PlayStation the Best, PSOne Books, and a ton of others). There's also a lot of games that were renamed between regions, sometimes drastically (e.g. Tecmo Stackers was originally Dero-N Dero Dero in Japan). Even weirder are the re-releases that fuck with the original game in unexpected ways, like the Arcade Hits release of Raiden that's just a sloppy edit of The Raiden Project with Raiden II removed. Eventually, I'm planning on dumping this information into a CMS for a companion website.

The other big thing I did was experiment with audio settings to figure out how to efficiently clean up my narration. I was able to pretty quickly hit on a sweet spot for noise gating that removes ~95% of the noise, which will make audio editing much faster.

I was hoping to record some more audio today, but the combined force of yesterday's omicron booster + flu shot has rendered me pretty much useless today. But I'm hoping to pick up pace next weekend.
