The big news is that I've finally finished the first draft of the King's Field script. It's just a smidge over 7,000 words, over twice the length of The Mansion of Hidden Souls script. It definitely needs at least one more pass to polish, but I'm going to let it breathe for a bit before revisiting it. I'm already really happy with how it turned out. I wanted to do something that was complex and layered and nuanced and dived into the history of the game, its influences, and why it's so special. It's a model for how I want to approach covering games that deserve really in-depth analysis going forward.
My next immediate focus is going to be on assembling and editing the other segments for PlayStation Experiment 2. For the other games and the intro/outro, I already have narration recorded and a good idea of how I want to put together the videos. I am definitely taking some downtime and slowing my pace as well, though, because I've been doing almost nothing but my day job and working on the King's Field piece for the past three weeks. But assemblage/editing is a lot more fun for me than writing, especially because I'll finally start seeing the finished product come together for segments that I've been working on since July.
