I've been making some physical backups of my personal archives in preparation for moving (because I have like ~2TB of my own video, writing, music, etc.), and it's wild how I've really just been on the same bullshit for 20+ years now.
Like, the 2004 version of me is a lot more edgelord-y, not nearly as good a writer, and a gigantic fucking egg, but there I am writing about Umihara Kawase and TwinBee and weird CD-ROM bullshit. There I am with potato-quality photos of my game collection, with a bunch of Saturn games beside Ranma 1/2 DVDs.
It's a bit painful to sift through, especially since I know that behind the smarmy edgelord bullshit, I was pretty deeply depressed and dysphoric at a time. But I keep slotting these pieces of me back into a new whole and realizing that Gretchen Leigh was there all along.
