I'm pretty happy to have gotten anything done this week, given that I just started HRT and had a pretty productive week at work.
On the PlayStation Experiment front, I finished editing the Motor Toon Grand Prix voiceover and started my playthrough of King's Field. It's nice to finally have one of the longer games I've played for this project be a really good one (the two big ones from previous episodes were Crime Crackers and WanChai Connection), and I'm really looking forward to diving deeper into it.
I am starting to run into disk space issues with the game footage library I've been building up. King's Field capture alone is already around 35GB. I think I can make things work my current ramshackle JBOD + Dropbox rig, but after I finish PlayStation Experiment 2, I'm going to take some time to set up a proper NAS with RAID 5 and automatic Dropbox sync.
On the digital preservation front, I purchased a copy of the last 21st Century Classics CD-ROM, the Essential Frankenstein. Hoping to get that preserved and up on Archive in the next few weeks.
This week's goal is just to finish King's Field. Since tomorrow is a holiday and my city is currently encased in ice, I'm hoping to just hunker down in front of the TV and get far enough that I can finish it with a couple more shorter sessions through the rest of the week.
PACIFIC NORTHWEST PEOPLE: if your heat pump coils freeze over or the heat pump otherwise can't keep up with the cold, set the mode switch on your thermostat to EMERG and it'll fire up the resistive heaters in the air handler, usually around 5kw
