The value of the number of the numbers between 0 and 1. When you learn that there's an infinite number of numbers between 0 and one that contain no number higher than one, meaning that you can have inifnite possibilities that nevertheless do not contain every possibility, it changes your outlook on life.

My dad just added a great one to this- and it’s very engineer-brained:

There is an infinite number of points between here and there, but you can still walk from here to there. Infinite points in a finite distance.

if the universe is finite* then there would at least be a largest number in practice due to finite entropy and kolmogorov complexity :3


*it doesn’t even have to be finite. it would suffice if it won’t get infinitely old or if the expansion of the universe eventually outpaces the speed of light thus only making a finite amount of energy accessible to any given point in spacetime
