losing my mind that on our casual watch of Star Trek TOS we got to an episode with sex pollen and it turns out it (most likely) is the originator of sex pollen as a trope (This Side of Paradise, 1967)
Star Trek TOS originated, I'm pretty sure, both the 'sex pollen' trope and the 'humanoids that go into heat' trope
There was so much first mover advantage stuff going on in the 60s. You just out your personal kink out there and it became a whole movement, shaping future developments, like Gor. HDG would have done numbers.
