I always kinda struggled to wrap my head around Phrygian visually and I'm still not sure I'm happy with where I landed, but it is a direction. The "convincing" face part is kinda the part I was never able to get in relation to the rest of the thing. I keep trying to tweak things, but I feel like the character is probably better served in animation than still image. Anyways, here are cables and I think they would probably ripple and snap.

I think Phrygian being hard to visualise is very much true to the character, considering that Branched are meant to be somewhat beyond human understanding.

Thanks, Gryme, I appreciate that. That eye area was definitely the first part of this to crystallize in my imagination. I love your take and I think yours does a much better job at feeling in motion and like those cables just never stop.
