"Uh, um..."
Abraxia the Queen of Despair was getting irritated. Her goody-two-shoes counterpart was really building up for something, and unlike earlier she really was out of combat energy - she was practically untransformed in all but physical and mental state. "Whatever you're going to say, SAY IT!"
"Hey, don't rush me! - uh... no, that isn't it..."
"nnghh." Abraxia was starting to think Dynamic Melody wasn't here to kill her. If she was, Abraxia figured, she'd have done it by now. But then... why? Did she have use as a hostage, or - perhaps she was planning on redeeming her, or -
"I- no, no..."
Did she... did she love her?
Fuck, Abraxia thought, did she fall in love with... her? The Queen of Despair?
"mm... how to... mm..."
Suddenly, everything made sense. Why Dynamic Melody always let her get away, why she kept volunteering to fight her, the choice of special attacks she always gunned for... fuck, how did Abraxia not see it before? And, come to think of it... perhaps she reciprocated it, deep down?
"Maybe it's - no, no not that..."
Damn it all, was she always this cute? So klutzy, so nervous...
Fuck. Abraxia did. She was a fool to ever think otherwise. She just... had to say it first. They could work it out together after, and maybe - just maybe - things could be different.
She mustered up all her remaining will. "Dynamic Melody, I l-"
"INSTANT DEATH DYNAMIC BARRAGE!"
Dynamic Melody slowly opened her eyes - she'd squeezed them shut the whole time the impossibly bright death laser cavalcade was firing - and saw the charred stain on the ground. Was that nasty ol' Queen saying something?
Eh, probably nothing important. What REALLY mattered now was getting home early and studying for the big test before her roomie noticed she was gone!
