so when i wanted to draw zoroark recently this one time i decided to go to the bulbagarden archives to reference the anime concept art/drawing guides/whatever they are so id have a good idea of what on model looked like for a zoroark just to be sure. i thought it'd be fun.
and it's a part of this sheet that got me (and which i have redrawn above; stuff in gray i drew to give Zoroark Context to the body shapes which are just kind of floating on their own and have the rest of the concept sheets for you to figure out what they're supposed to mean). it specifically indicates that zoroark's body should be thin (like the right), and that to draw it too close to lucario's more directly humanesque shape (like the left) would be off-model. and now it bugs me whenever i see the left one out in the artistic wild because i've been Cursed with the knowledge that this is the Wrong Zoroark now even though you can actually just kinda do whatever in your art and you should not be stopped
cursing you all in the afternoon crowd with this too
